Response To Comments

So it looks like we've been getting a lot of positive feedback regarding the recent developments on the site...great!  And it seems like we've been receiving a lot more feedback via the Comment Wall...double great!  The Comment Wall has ended up being a really effective means of communicating your thoughts and concerns to us, which is something that I had not anticipated, but I'm glad it's working out as well as it is.

Over the past few days we've received a few comments that had to do with the voting system.  For example, there was a request that we increase the number of votes per day and also allow voting for more than one charity.  Now I don't have anything against either one of these ideas, but we're just testing things out right now and seeing how things are going.  Once we have a better idea of what the usage patterns are going to look like, we should be able to offer more flexibility in how we are going to run future polls.  I guess what I'm trying to say is that we're kind of figuring things out on-the-fly here, so please bear with us.  And thanks for your patience.

Regarding the things that we should add to the site (like links to de.licio.us, Digg, and Facebook): Those, and a bunch of other things, are all in the pipeline.  It's just that we're kind of backed-up with things that need to be taken care of--but that doesn't mean that we don't care.  It just means that it might take a couple-three weeks for new features to get added to the site.  Ramadev has a monster-list of things to do, but some of the things near the top are linking to social bookmarking sites, creating a hotlink page, and adding a "Tell A Friend" button.

As for the comments referring to the inappropriate ads on Search Kindly...if anyone ever sees anything that they aren't comfortable with, please take good notes on what you saw and where you saw it so that I can report it to our ad network.  Although we have opted for "family friendly" ads in every instance that we can, there may still be a few undesirables that are slipping through the cracks...which is why we need your help to find them.

In a perfect world, we wouldn't ever have to worry about inappropriate ads because all of the advertisers would be dealing with us directly.  Unfortunately, though, we've still got a good while to go before we can dictate those kind of terms.  This is why we need your help yet again.  The more people that use Search Kindly, the more valuable advertising real estate on the site becomes...and then we do get to dictate terms.  But in order for that to happen, we're going to need a whole lot more traffic.  Anyone have any ideas?
