Front Page Or Bust

Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at 10:10:02 AM

***Edited on Thursday, April 5th.

To prove the legitimacy of what we're trying to do here, please see what a reporter from a Chicago Sun-Times affiliate wrote about Search Kindly. Click here for the article

This post is for all of you who are (hopefully) new to the site. If it's April 4th, 2007 and this is the first time that you've visited Search Kindly, then chances are that you probably followed a link to this site from Digg.com. The reason that all of us at Search Kindly (there are about 2000 of use right now) wanted all of you to come here and see what we're up to is because we need your help.

We at Search Kindly believe wholeheartedly in the notion of microvolunteering; making a difference in our spare time. As you can clearly see, Search Kindly is nothing more than a gateway to Google Search. But instead of the blank page the Google.com offers, we have a few ads. Advertising drives the Internet, as many of you may already know, but it's also what allows Search Kindly to donate money to charity every month. Our volunteers have been able to raise over $1600 for charity (see the proof) so far, all through the toleration of a minor inconvenience. Unlike most non-profits (we are currently in the process of applying for 501(c)3 status from the IRS), we don't ask you for your money, we'd just like a few seconds of your time.

I know that there are a bunch of other things that you all need to take care of, so I'll try to keep this short. In a nutshell, we need your help. We need publicity, we need people to spread the word. And we need to do this on the cheap, being that we donate all of our advertising revenue to charity (which doesn't leave us with much of a marketing budget). I know that most of you Diggers may be thinking that what I'm asking for is to "game the system", but I don't think that's the case at all. I just want you to digg with your conscience.

And lastly, before you leave, please click on the logo above so that you can be taken to our homepage. Right below the search box there's a poll that lets you decide which charity should receive next month's donation. See, we're kind of like Digg in a way...but with an altruistic twist.

Hope to have you all a part of the SKarmy some day.

Syed
