Malware Ads And Popups

Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 9:09:41 PM

I've been hearing for awhile about random ads that are really annoying--little warning boxes that look like Windows alerts and pop up ads. We're only supposed to be running standard ads on Search Kindly, so either of those formats should never present themselves during your visit to the site. But like I said, I've only been told that these ads were appearing--I had never personally experienced them. Well, late last night I was hit. I came across my first really, really annoying Malware Scanner advertisement. And let me tell you, it really ticked me off.

So I conjured up an email to our primary ad network and asked them if they knew about this ad that was running in their network. It seems that they don't, so I was wondering if I could ask all of you to help out with some detective work. If you come across another ad that resembles something that has to do with a Windows system alert box, some kind of malware scanner, or any kind of pop up, then please print-screen the page and copy the link of the website that it sends you to. We need that information in order to figure out whether the annoyances are a part of the ad network, or if Search Kindly has been hacked. Thanks!
