We have gotten many comments about why the revenue that is given
to the charities is off by a week. Many have suggested that the
revenue generated should be from the same week as the poll. Thus,
supporters would not have to come back that next week. As to why the
current system is in place, we can just say that at inception this
seemed best. There were many tweaks in the first month that were
worked out while the first poll was on and very little revenue. In
order to try to make a little more money for the first charity, they
actually got two months worth of revenue. One can imagine that there
was very little traffic in the first few months, so this made the most
sense. We also thought, at one point, that it would be in the charities' best interest if we asked people to come back for a second
It seems that many want the ad revenue and polls to match. In
order to do this, there will have to be another slightly awkward
change. This is the reason for the June 22b poll. Although things may seem a bit chaotic right now, rest assured that all of the charities will be receiving donations for the proper amounts. In the event that there isn't enough money in the bank to cover the donations, we will be receiving funds from a few volunteers who have contacted us and offered their financial support while we go through this transition period.
So starting next week, the polls, dates, and donations will all line up in a very easy to understand manner.
Thank you to everyone who supports us and forwards our message of helping the less fortunate of the world.
