Just letting everyone know that the final response to the IRS went out a few weeks ago...and we're still waiting to hear back. If I don't hear anything this week, I'll give our contact a call and ask where we are in the decision-making process. Sure is taking a while, but it should all work out in the end. Once it does, Search Kindly will be the only IRS-approved charity search engine In The World.
I'm really excited about all the free advertising that we are going to be eligible for once we get that IRS stamp of approval. How cool will it be to see a Search Kindly advertisement while sitting on the El (Chicago Transit Authority). Or hear Chicago Public Radio make a quick mention about us as a public service announcement. Better yet, what if Q101 and The Loop got one of their morning DJs to say a few words...Shannon? (Shannon is one of those super-cool people who works at the radio station. Hopefully she will do her duty as one of Search Kindly's founding directors and hook us up.)
It'll be an interesting little experiment, that's for sure.
