I just received notice from the IRS that Search Kindly has been denied its application for 501(c)3 status. I can post the 8-page response later, but in a nutshell, we are done with that chapter.
So now we need to decide what to do next and how we want to proceed. IRS tax-exampt status could have openend the door to corporate gifts and given us access to foundation grants. But those two avenues are no longer an option. And we don't get the buzz of being an officially-recognized charity search engine. Needless to say that Ramadev and I are both pretty bummed.
We are going to move forward with the site redesign, but we're unsure about what to work on after that. I guess we're in a state of flux right now. How depressing.
