Wasn't "Now I lay me down to sleep" on week 2's poll also? Great charity, just curious if I am losing it...
--You may be right about that. I still haven't worked out a system for listing the older charities--and if I'm in a hurry, there may be some unintended repeats. This is one of the things that a volunteer could help out with--keeping track of the polls. Would that be something that you'd be interested in doing? It wouldn't be much more than putting together a spreadsheet and making sure that it is current.--Syed

Is it possible to put ads on the google results page? i know that when you press search on SK and it takes you to the results page it shows an image of the SK logo...would it be possible to also put an advertisement next to it? That would mean that everyone who searches will donate twice for the same amount of work.
--Unfortunately, we don't actually 'own' the restults page, so we aren't really allowed to post ads on them. But your thinking is right on the mark--we really need to take advantage of as much ad space as possible. As soon as we apply for our federally-recognized 501(c)3 status this week, we are going to request to Google to reinstate our old account with them so that we can share the revenue from the Google ads on the results page.--Syed

One other thing: Any way to put "News" as an option along side "Web" "Images" "Maps" "Video" "Froogle" (etc) like it is on Google's main page?
Thanks.
Excellent site. Excellent concept. I've sent links to this page to everyone I know.
--I don't think that will be a problem at all. Please check back in a few days.--Syed

How about getting Search Kindly up and running in other languages? I could help translate to other languages, if you needed it.
--Hi Resimba, please contact me via 'syed at searchkindly.org' so that I we can talk more about this. Thanks--Syed

I'd like to suggest SafeHouse for donations. It's a nonprofit transitional housing facility for women escaping prostitution. Their website (www.sfsafehouse.org) is currently under construction, but a better description of the organization can be found at http://www.sfnetworkministries.org/revisedSafeHouse.htm.

When I search something from my search bar (I use firefox) I hit enter and it'd normally go straight to search results. With it set to SearchKindly I hit enter, then have to hit enter a second time. Anyway you can modify your searchbar tool such that it immediately opens the search results?
--Unfortunately, there really isn't a way to go straight to the results page. Basically, if we did that, then there would be no point in using Search Kindly--it's the ads on the home page that raise the money. If you were to bypass the ads (and the home page) then there wouldn't be any money that would be getting raised. Sorry about that.--Syed

How about
http://www.enoughproject.org/
Also, maybe it would be helpful to put a little blurb for each charity next to the voting box to expedite the process of looking up each cause (of course, it is important to look up each cause properly if there is time).
--I've added that request to the list. Thanks for your input.--Syed

If you make your Google Search Bar Search Kindly, do those searches benefit SK?
--I'm not exactly sure about what you're talking about, but I don't think it's important to really understand the details. That's because it's super-simple to figure out whether or not you are searching kindly--if you somehow end up on the SK home page, then you've done it! If your Google search bar leads you to SK first, then you are, in fact, searching kindly. But, if hitting enter on in your search bar leads you directly to the search results page, well, that's really not all that different from using plain old Google. Hope that helped.--Syed

I agree. If everyone tried to get causes that they did not agree with removed, we would end up with nothing. If you don't want SK to support that cause, vote against it. Frequently.
