Hey all you diggers out there, here is a way to make money for SK.org: set it to your homepage, and if you want to go to digg just search for digg directly from the site!

Happy early birthday Syed! I agree with Shawn, everyone should realize that this whole website is about the ads:) Maybe some of the energy people are wasting complaining about the layout should be spent telling friends about the site and thinking about other ways to advertise it! In the mean time, just wanted to say that all of these charities are such great organizations and I really encourage people to look into what else they can do to help them out:) Keep up the good work everyone and get the word out there!:):)

In response to Andrew's comment: Although I did miss the buykindly/blog boxes, I am fine with the ads that were above the logo. I would be surprised if it had any significant effect on recurrent visitors. I may be wrong, but if you put them up again, perhaps you could watch your statistics closely to see to judge if it has any significant effect? And if you do take down the box for buykindly, you should have a link to it at least somewher... perhaps on the "how to help" drop-down menu?

Seems like a lot of negativity going on here with the comment wall. With the add compliants and all. Guys, you gotta keep in mind that those adds are the donations. Just wanted to say keep up the good work Syed and SKarmy. What you are doing is making a difference. Thank you!

Really useful way to help. You might wanna link to some of those click-to-donate sites. Just a suggestion.

I find the ads above the logo far to intrusive. A visitor to the page will not even read below them. To me it makes the page look like an amateur or spam website.
I suppose a less intrusive version would be ok though. Slimline perhaps? just a line of words even?
ps I miss the BuyKindly + comment + goal boxes :(

I'm fine with having ads above the search box, but below, where the stats are... hate it.

So in response to your
blog,I personally don't get a chance to check my email everyday. So I don't know how well that would work. SK is my home page on all my computers, at work and home. I will gladly keep passing the word along to as many people as I can. (I have posted SK on my facebook and myspace) We'll get the word out there!

To respond to the question in your
blog, about daily e-mail reminders, I know that I don't check my e-mail every day, so they would just pile up. And if I did see them, it probably wouldn't work (for me at least) because I just use SearchKindly as my default for whenever I need to search something.
But on another note, kind of adding on to the previous post about Internet Explorer 7. This is what I use, and it allows you to set more than one homepage (they just come up in two tabs). So you can have a personal website in one, and SearchKindly in the other. (:
--Hey! You learn something everyday. Seems like a handy little feature, I'll have to try it out some time soon. Thanks.--Syed Caroline B.
