"A lot of people doing a little is better than a few people doing a lot."

Really? What about individual donors such as Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, and (on a singficantly smaller scale, and not without controversy) Oprah, who have donated BILLIONS to humanitarian causes worldwide? Admittedly, these individuals are rare exceptions, and it's wonderful that everyone can do something - however small -to help others, but to me, this type of rhetoric is a little too cozy... perhaps placating some individuals into thinking, "Well, I used SK instead of google today... I've done my part." Please don't take this as a means of "bashing" Search Kindly, which i think *YOU*, Syed, should personally be very proud of. And I don't doubt that the site attracts indivduals who, in addition to "searching kindly", engage in other philanthropic efforts. Yet at the same time, I don't think we should discount the contributions of "Big Name" philantropists... or lull people into a false sense of self-satisfaction.

No offense to the Invisible Children supporters, but they already receive money for 2 months already, and are receiving part of this months donation too. It is a worthy charity, but I think SK has focused on them a pretty good amount and been generous so I'd like to see things shared more among the many other charities that people have suggested. I think after one particular charity receives a donation from SK, there should be about 1 yr before they are eligible for their next donation. Just because there are SO MANY worthy charities on the list =) And I think that policy should stand for all the charities that have already received/are currently receiving donations from SK (Pennies for Promise, Invisible Children, Oprah's, Angel Network, Save Dafur, etc). But I don't make the rules =P Just my thoughts though...

Dear Syed, While I don't agree with his tactics, I definitely agree with the message from an earlier post.
I too think there should be a note at the top of the search pages that says that no money is made per search. Without such a note, it looks like you're trying to hide something. With it, it looks like you're being totally up-front and honest. I think this is very important for you to build up the trust of your users.
Anyways, just my 2-cents.
Thanks for listening.
Carrie (a fan and a concerned user)

--I'll have to chew on this one for awhile...from what I can tell, most everyone seems to be pretty clear on how money is raised, but maybe I'm wrong about that. It's not that I have a problem with adding a note stating the precise manner by which funds are generated (though I think that's covered in one of the other pages), it's just that the space that we have on the front page is really limited. Maybe there's a more concise way to phrase things...I'll work on that. By the way, thanks for your two-cents. It really is appreciated.--Syed

You should have Invisible Children up again to receive the money! It's such a great charity and the children in Uganda really need the money!

I think that you should make a MySpace page for just the Search Kindly organization separate from a personal page for you. It would be more professional that way, and as soon as people clicked on the profile, they would have more idea of what they were looking at. I think the picture should be an SK banner, for example. Just a suggestion. :]

--Believe it or not, I was just waiting for someone to suggest that. Ok, I'll go ahead and take care of that now. Thanks for the input.--Syed

On what day will the final poll for the month be posted?

--The final poll will be posted on Sunday, April 22nd. Sorry, I can't guarantee a time, but my guess is that it would be some time in the evening.--Syed

Nice MySpace page...you should try to invite as many friends as you can.

--Yeah, I plan on going buck-wild with adding friends as soon as school lets out. But you know...you're always welcome to add me as a friend ;)--Syed

Why not create a SearchKindly myspace page and add people as friends to spread the word? Much of new bands that want to get attention do that..so could we!

--Haha! Done deal. Here is the link
It's actually to my profile, but the reason that I created a profile for myself is to help spread the word about Search Kindly.
In case you all didn't know, there is also a 2000-person Search Kindly Facebook group
But I think the best thing to do on Facebook is to just share this link.
Ok, that's all I got.--Syed

Maybe you could find a way to add the "Advanced Search" feature that most other searches seem to have? I don't know about anyone else, but I find it useful for projects.

--Actually, that feature does exist, if you need to access it. Well, it's in sort of a roundabout way, but it's still easy to get to. If you click on the Google logo right next to the search box, you'll get taken to the normal Google homepage. From there you can access the Google Advanced Search, which is on the right-side of the search box.
I know that it would be great if we could offer that feature from the site, but there are some things that we just can't do. Thanks for the suggestion, though.--Syed
