I think that what this site is doing is wondeful and the fact that there are people that really care and, I mean really care, about the issues presented is a great inspiration to everyone...

How many visitors do you get on average per day?

--An accurate average is hard to say because we just noticed a spike in traffic, and weekdays are way different from weekends...but on Wednesday, March 21st, for example, 1854 different people volunteered at Search Kindly. My goal for May 12th is 10,000 volunteers in one day.--Syed

I wanted to suggest only allowing charities to receive money once or twice a year. Though all the charities involved are worthy causes, what I like so much is the ability to give to so many different options. If only one or two charities are constantly winning the voting, SearchKindly is missing out on the chance to inform everyone about all the other options.

Invisible Children is a great cause, however, charities like Baal Dan don't have as much awareness or support and need our help more.

Are you going to put a "share on Facebook" link up?

--It just got put on the list. Thanks for pointing that out.--Syed

Hey, those ads that use various words in the text and turn them into ads, how exactly do those generate money? Do we have to move our mouse over them and have the little window pop up to generate the money or do we have to then click on the little window too like those text ads at the bottom of the page to get the money? Or do we not even need to move our mouse over them at all? Just curious.

Basically, if it's not a banner ad, then you have to click on it in order for any kind of financial transaction to take place. And just clicking isn't enough sometimes. Advertisers usually track the duration of the visits to their site and use that information to decide on which clicks to pay for and which to reject. For example, if they notice that there are an awful lot of people who are coming from Search Kindly, but then leaving right away...they'll just contact the ad network and tell them what is going on. And then the ad network will send me an email stating something along that lines of, "Your account has been suspended due to a violation of the..."
But to get back to your original question, yes, you actually have to click on them. Are they too annoying? Should I take those down?--Syed

Yeah, Syed, don't change it, for the same reasons as everyone else. Like "newbutoptimistic from kentucky" said, this site is unique in its dual nature of being able to give to a charity but at the same time also raise awareness for other ones. You hit the target with the ‘vote for your charity’ function. It makes me actively look through each charity’s website to see which one I think is most important. Most times, I can’t make up my mind. Which is a good thing, cuz all of them are very worthy causes. Take it from a guy who is the worst kind of stereotype of today’s generation of college kids, I don’t donate, nor do I pretend to care about what goes on in the world. This is not from a lack of sympathy or funds, it’s simply that the issue of donation just doesn’t come up on a daily basis, so it’s easy to ignore. Your site gave me the nudge that started me towards taking a more active role. So far, I’ve personally donated to one charity featured on your site and another I ran into while browsing through random charities. This may seem inconsequential, but for a guy who can’t even remember the last time he gave to a charity…or if he gave at all, it’s a huge step. Keep up the good work.

Please do not change how you donate to charities. I believe that one of the strongest qualities of this site is how it "advertises" specific charities. I have found many charities through this site that I never would have known of otherwise. I'm also sure that this focussed attention really helps the charities to get their messages out there.

I agree w/ Robin. The thing that makes this site effective is that it donates ALL money raised to ONE charity at a time. This is great for charities that are small-medium sized or just starting out. Goodsearch really only raises a dollar or two a month for those charities.
