this is amazing! i have been an avid googler, and it's so nice to know that now when i search it could actually change lives.
lots of thanks to the creators of searchkindly.org for using something as simple as a search engine to make a big difference in our little world. :)

I just love this site. I am so grateful that people are actively trying to do something to better our world. I love getting to work and checking on my Search Kindly website first thing. (and then of course.. all day long.) I love hearing what everyone has to say, and I love that we are kept informed on the status of the site. It's very cool. I almost feel a sense of community here - where people who care can gather.

inspired by Elizabeth's idea of submitting the site to i-am-bored.com, I also submitted the site to coolsiteoftheday.com. After submission, they highly recommended to all website creators a subscription to Revenue magazine... so I'm just passing along the message. You can apply for a free subscription here:

What an amazing idea you all have! I've been telling everyone i know about this site and coming on here like crazy. I also sent the link into i-am-bored.com....thinking they might post it...and when anything gets posted onto their site...it goes like hotcakes!
But they havent posted it yet...so still not sure...but either way you will get a million visitors a day very soon im sure of it!
GOD BLESS!

Just wanted to let you know that the blue "recent blog" notifier thing in the upper-left of the home page was not updated to reflect tonight's entry.
also, a reddit link might be a good link to add to the del.icio.us, digg, facebook, etc. links. I know you must be busy... I just wanted to make sure you were aware! Thanks for everything!!

First off, I absolutely love this site and the varied causes, but I was curious about advertising it on livejournal. Is it okay if I make banner linking to search kindly to post on my bio or are there already some banners available? I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction. Sorry if this was the wrong place to post this.
--Yes! Of couse you can make a banner and link to us. We're in the process of building a page that has a bunch of banners that people can copy, but we also have a few other things on our to-do list. So...in the meantime, please feel free to do whatever you think is best to help promote Search Kindly. If you'd like some of the banners that we already have, please email me directly by using the Contact Us form and I'll send those off to you. And just so you know, this was the perfect place to ask that question.--Syed

I agree... I don't remember seeing lingerie ads but I would rather not see them here in the first place even if they do generate money. In fact, I think indecent ads will maker the site less effective b/c some people would choose not to use it.
Also... thanks for putting in the navigation hyperlinks at the bottom too!
--I'm going to comment more about this in tonight's blog-post, but in a nutshell, we don't support those types of ads on Search Kindly, either. Unfortunately, though, we have no way of knowing exactly what ads are being shown to all of our users. Though we have opted only for "family-friendly" ads with our advertising network, apparently there are some not-so-friendly ones slipping through the cracks. More on this later.--Syed

I cried when I saw the Invisible Children website. If any organization is in need of money, it is this one.

I think Stoney had a good point about voting for more than one.
One other thing - earlier I noticed a lingerie ad on here, and I wanted to forewarn that as much as I love this site (it's my homepage currently) if the ads start getting inappropriate I won't be on here anymore. Tonight my parents were going to buy something from Amazon and I would have told them to BuyKindly but I wasn't sure of what would be on the site, so I didn't.
But thanks for a great site, and keep up the good work.
--I agree with you on certain types of ads being inappropriate for Search Kindly. If possible, in the future could you please let me know exactly where that ad was located, what it looked like, and who the advertiser was? That will make it easier for me to make sure that it doesn't happen again (I hope).--Syed
