i also think that we should be donating to some new charities, not the same ones (invisible children, etc.) i think they're still in desperate need of our support, but we should also be getting the word out about other causes. maybe do a repeat donation AFTER a bunch have been donated to at least once - you know, like make sure everyone has had their firsts before giving out second helpings :)

The voting option is pretty cool - nice work =)
After browsing through the websites I like the looks of Baal Dan the best I think. So what happens next month for the charities that get 2nd or 3rd place? Do ppl have to vote for them all over again for the next month?

a few things:
1) on the "feel free to post a comment HERE" on the "who we support" description, the "here" link goes to the old blogspot site. you might want to fix that.
2) you should add links for sharing on digg, facebook, and del.icio.us.
3) It weould be nice to have the navigation links (First << 1 2 3 4 >> Last) at the bottom of the comments page as well as the top.
4) I think you should put the graphic ads for buying on amazon and ebay back up on the bottom of the homepage, because I think a lot of people might not notice the text ad that is already there and it could make a big difference I think. But keep the text ad too.
5) I think it would be a good idea to allow people to vote for more than one charity in each 8 hour period of time, and only disallow the voting for the same charity within 8 hours. Here's why: Let's make this example simple and say that the list consists of Invisible Children, SaveDarfur, and American Heart Association. The problem is that both Invisible Children and SaveDarfur support similar causes, and so they are competing for the same audience of people that think the situation in darfur is a more worthy cause than the domestic causes supported by the American Heart Association- but it is still good to have both Invisible Children and SaveDarfur because you want people to be able to decide which of the two if more worthy of receiving the money. But let's say that 60% of users agree that the a Darfur charity is more worthy of our support than the AHA, and only 40% think the that AHA is more worthy of a cause. This would indicate that one of the 2 darfur charities should be chosen. but if the 60% of people that prefer a Darfur charity are not united on which of the two is more worthy of receiving the charity, then a hypothetically breakdown would reasonably be similar to a little over half of the of the Darfur supprt going to the preferred of the to (let's say Invisible Children) and a little less than half going to the other (being SaveDarfur). The breakdown would then be as follows:
American Heart Association: 40%
Invisible Children: 35%
Savedarfur: 25%
meaning that AHA would take the vote, despite the earlier conclusion that at least one of the 2 Darfur charities should receive it.
If people were able to vote for more than one charity for each voting period, then the problem would be solved: The majority of the sixty percent that prefer a Darfur charity would vote for both charities available because they prefer both of them to AHA, and whichever of the two is more prefered would in fact win the vote.

PLEASE vote for invisible children! the plight of these child soldiers in uganda is one of the most underreported humanitarian crises in the world.

For the April donation, I think the SaveDarfur Coalition shouldn't really be on the ballet, I mean I love that site and everything, but Search Kindly donated to that same company last month...just a a suggestion. oh yea I think Invisble Children or Baal Dan are good one to vote for.

Everyone, if you're ambivalent about what to vote for, PLEASE DO INVISIBLE CHILDREN! It's an amazing organization that has helped (and is helping) to build and rebuild schools in Uganda, stop child soldiers in Uganda, and help children to stop being "invisible." PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE VOTE FOR IT!!!!!!!!! I'm not advertising, I'm telling you what's the right thing to do.....

You need a "tell my friends" button to make it easy for me to send inof. about this to others.

I think that the voting thing is good, but I personally think that the charities that we have already done should not be on the list, just so we can help out more charities. Just a thought. I'm not trying to say that those charities aren't worthy, because believe me, they are, but I think that if a charity has been done, there should be a certain "grace period" where they aren't on the ballot, like maybe a few months or something. Just throwing an idea out there. What do you all think?

Syed, we have a problem. The stupid guy who is in charge of the technology @ my school BLOCKED SEARCHKINDLY.
Why, you ask? I have no idea.
but I am pissed.
we need to do something about this, because we would have been able to donate atleast $30 more a month for the homepages.
This is terrible.
