(continued from last post) There is no direct correlation between the money each pageview earned and which charity that goes to, so it doesn't matter if someone doesn't vote each time they visit.
I hope that answers your question and I'm sure Syed will correct me if I made a mistake. :)

Esther, the money is accumulated by each page view of the site throughout the week. That includes the front page, the voting page, about us, the comment wall, proof of giving, all of the pages under how to help, and the contact us page. After the end of each week, the money earned from showing ads on each page is divided by what percentage of the votes they received. The amount shown by each charity on the results page is just an estimate based on what the site has earned so far.

Um, I'm pretty sure we've raised more than 21 cents this week...

What happens when the site accumulates change from people who visit, but don't vote? How is that money split between the charities? Is it reflected in the money status on the results page?

oops, sorry.
although the donations are small relative to the $5,000/week projection in oct. 07. still it's nice to be making even a small difference. I expect we can reach that goal if we try.
But can someone explain the $3 per month figure to me? because thats ten cents a day and I had thought we only earned 1/3 of a cent and I just don't think I open my homepage 30 times a day.
but everyone in family does have it as their hompage so it counts for something.
--$3 is an approximation based on a survey that was administered a while back. There's really no way of saying exactly how much each person is responsible for raising by using Search Kindly, but we thought it would be useful to provide a ballpark figure. --Syed

I would like to suggest/recommend the following charity for your consideration. They operate at a very ground level--just trying to attend to medical and physical needs of Haitians in smaller villages (as opposed to the city of Port Au Prince), getting them clean water access, etc.

Justin from Australia is right! More visitors does mean more votes etc. $3 a month just for your homepage...that's excellent....where else can you do that!!!

R... what kind of attitude are you bringing to the SK wall ?? grow up and DO something about your stance rather than ranting !!
How about, instead of insisting on month-long polls to increase donations, spread the word... more visitors means more votes for charities, more competitive polls, and more money to split between the weekly charities... $3- per month just for making SK your home page, I believe ?!?! think about it...
SK, you do a great job and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!

I'd like to suggest a charity, called Make a Child Smile (http://www.makeachildsmile.org/) It's a really great organization that helps kids with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Thanks!
