I agree with the folks that would like to see the polls go back to running for a month. It's been said that doing something consistently for 30 days will establish it as a habit. If that's the case, then perhaps 30 days of voting and fundraising for an organization will help folks get in the habit of using SearchKindly regularly.

Hi everyone,

I work at a small 501(c)(3) called the Eli Home. We provide transitional shelter as well as counseling, life skills, and vocational classes for abused children and mothers. Our mission is to break the cycle of child abuse by empowering our clients.

We would love to be on searchkindly.org!

Please visit www.elihome.org.

My email address is volunteer@elihome.org. I'm in charge of recruiting volunteers, so if you live in the OC and want to volunteer, contact me!

RE: Lexi,
Petition signed and posted on Facebook. Goodness, I'm getting sentimental in my old age. :)

Love the new poll structure, I really like being able to see how much everyone has earned so far. And yes, I would prefer it too if we had longer voting periods. I think that with these changes, that would not be such an issue as it was in the past.

Maybe we can even go back to a monthly vote now that everyone gets a share?

Thank you, Becky!

I also like the new features in the voting poll. I liked the old way better too, but I understand that changes are necessary, and I hope it helps attract new people, and invite old friends to come more often.

In regards to the current blog, I find it a terrible shame that you will be matching up the polls with the donations. One of my favorite things about SK has always been the strategic fact that charity supporters who are recruited to vote for a winning charity are forced to continue to use SK in order to raise money for their charity (although this could have been more forwardly advertised)

--I understand your disappointment. And truth be told, I liked it the old way better, too. But the thing is that our traffic levels are no higher now than they were a year ago, which is why we were forced to try something new. It's one of those things where we must continuously make modifications until we hit the sweet spot that will place us on the Internet map. --Syed

It is good to see that no one is getting bashed and the ASPCA is in the "lead"!! Although $6.00 is hardly enough to fight about!!

Does Search Kindly actually send checks to these recipients for the $ amount shown...$3.00, $6.00??

--Yes, we will in fact be sending out those checks. --Syed

I would like to suggest the National Multiple Sclerosis Society as one of the charities for which we search. They do so much for people with MS and their families, it is unbelievable.

Lexi -- I signed the petition... I really hope it helps!

I love Extreme Makeover Home Edition; they are a great group of people who really improve people's lives.

I like the new feature very much too, and agree with the others that less organizations in a poll and/or longer voter periods might be better for the time being.

Something else, is it possible to add this organization?:

Asha for education is a small volunteer operated organization, with a four star charity navigator raiting.

I agree with Anonymous...I REALLY like the new feature on the polls page that lets us know how much we've earned for each charity we've voted for. Thanks for the upgrade!

I also agree with Lexi & Cornelia...a longer time for each poll would earn more for the charities. (As would cutting the charities to 4 per poll instead of 6...but I've said that before.)

Looking forward to future upgrades! Thanks again!
