I think all the new changes will prove to be improvements to the site.Personally I am very happy with them!

It might be a bit confusing right now, so many changes at once, but eventually when the actual donations will be shown and the new checkes will be posted on the site things will be clear again for everybody. Hopefully at that point the addmoney will start increasing again.

What about doing polls for two weeks(14 days)? Or half a month(15-16 days)? It's shorter than a month, but we would be able to raise double what we are giving to the charities currently. What do the rest of you think?

The "How to Help" drop-down hides behind the live search spelling bee advertisement.

I think what also needs to be added is that by using the searchbox, people raise money. This way the focus is on doing something they do anyway, not just them having to visit the site and click around it.

And is there any explanation you could give us on why we recently closed the "June 22nd donation" but now are voting on "June 22b donation"? What's going on?

(Sorry about the two posts in a row....)

I saw some discussion earlier about going to 4 charities/week instead of 6. I think you (SearchKindly) should make that change ASAP.

IMO, page views (revenue) dropped when you switched formats, because people's favorite charities then got a much smaller piece (1/6 if votes split evenly, instead of 100%) of a much smaller pie (weekly vs. monthly). A larger piece of the pie might tempt visitors back.

I also think it'd be worthwhile to go to a longer voting period, for the same reason.

Hermansky-Pudlak Syndrome, a rare type of albinism that causes a myriad of other health problems including blindness, a bleeding disorder, colitis and pulmonary fibrosis. Most people with this type of HPS pass away in their late 30s to early 40s. There is no cure for this condition at this time and since it is so rare, most people in the medical community have never even heard of it, thus many people get the wrong diagnosis.

I think the organisation below would be well deserved.

Thanks Abigail...learned something new but the point that I think was omitted was:

Although you see yourself voting for a charity in a given week, those charities are not actually receiving the money for the time in which you are voting because ____________________

I think this is what needs to be clarified.

Although based on the collected $$...well,.no biggie anyhow. What a shame.

I think your idea of weekly donations and splitting the money by the percent of the vote is a lot more fair because then everyone gets something. Though it was fun cheering for your charity to win...
