I really like the idea behind searchkindly, and have been supporting it since I heard about it (it's my homepage and searchbox), but I'm not a fan of you hosting the results page as well as the homepage. The ads on the results page are distracting and you have to go back if you want to search images, video maps etc. These things are enough of an inconvience that I may stop using searchkindly, which would be a shame.

Hey Syed & the SK gang! It's Neil again from Baal Dan. Just wanted to drop a note to SK supporters in the Dallas /Fort worth area - there will be a short news story on Baal Dan airing this week on the NBC local news. Check out this link for details:

Just thought it may be of interest to any SK user who wants to find out more about the types of org's you are indirectly supporting! thanks, and happy new yr!

I just read about this site today in New Moon magazine. Someone wrote a letter.
This is a great idea; I hope more people learn about it. I'm going to spread the word!

--I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the information! --Syed

I have the SeachKindly as my searchbox default. But every time i enter a search, it goes to the searchkindly homepage instead of the results page. Why? That's annoying, cuz i have to enter the search twice thereby defeating the whole purpose of having a convenient searchbox. Just wondering if it's something wrong with what I'm doing.

--Hi! Thanks for reminding me about that. Just so you know, it's not something wrong with what you are doing. The reason that you are being taken to the home page is because up until a few days ago, the home page is all that Search Kindly "owned". But now that we are actually hosting the search results page, we are going to be directing traffic that comes from your search box to that page. This way you won't have to deal with that extra step. There's only one small catch--we can't update that part of the code until next week. But I promise we'll have it taken care of then. I'll be sure to make an announcement once it's up and running. Thanks! --Syed

I think that Search Kindly is an awesome orginazation. I discovered it from reading a magizene and someone had written a letter saying that they should try this out because all the profits go to chairaty, and as soon as i saw it, i loged on to your website. You are really making a difference in the world. Keep up the good work!

--You read about Search Kindly in a magazine? Really?!? Which one? I'm really curious. Please let us know which one so we can see what that reader had to say. Thanks! --Syed

I don't know if this question has been asked already or not, but is there a way to move the current charity to a more prominent location on the homepage? The link is kind of buried beneath others right now and this makes it difficult to figure what money is going where.

I was trying to explain to my family over the break why they should Search Kindly, but my argument was severely weakened because I couldn't figure out what December's charity was and I'm a frequenter of Search Kindly. I can imagine for a first-timer this could be something of a deterrent to a repeat visit or regular use.

Thanks and Happy New Year!

--Thanks for the tip. As you've probably noticed, we just made some changes to the site so that it's easier to see which charity just got what. Please let me know what you think. --Syed

I think that Searc Kindly should help support Beads Of Hope, an organization founded by a couple who's son went to Uganda in order to use is Medical Certificate to help the sick. After his experience his parents wnt with him and taught the citizins of Uganda to make neclacces out of recycled paper. They sell the paper and buy things for different places in Uganda where people are in need. If you google them their website and probally sme of the pictures of the people they helped will show up. Beads Of Hope is a great oranization!

--Unfortunately, Beads of Hope isn't a 501(c)3 organization, so we won't be able to list it in the polls. But thanks for the suggestion! --Syed

How many home page tabs can you get??

If SK is one of them, that helps, right?

--I think you can create as many tabs as you'd like, but I wouldn't do too many--the more that you have, the longer it takes your browser to load them all. And if you have too many (like 50 or something), there's a good chance that your browser will crash. But to answer your questions: Yes, if one of your home page tabs is Search Kindly, then that will most definitely help. --Syed

Hey, I like the new look - the search results page has ads! Does that mean we're generating more money?

One thing though, on the old search results page it used to say something like 'this page doesn't belong to Searchkindly, click here to go back and search again for free', which used to remind us to return to the SK homepage. Does this mean we no longer need to do that?

--Thanks. We're really glad that you liked our latest little change. And yes, because we "own" the pages that the results are being shown on, we are in fact raising more money. It's not as important to return to the home page now as it used to be, but there are a lot more ads on the home page than on the search results page, so visiting the home page a couple-few times a day would be great. Thanks for the feedback. --Syed
